You might think the direct heat is the issue, but what really affects glass with both hot and cold weather is the changes in temmperature. Glass expands and contracts with the temperature which can cause issues. By gradually lowering the temperature, you can help avoid some of these problems by reducing the stress on your auto glass. Lowering your windows to release the hot air and allowing your glass to adjust gradually before turning on your AC can help.
